Bioinformatics Consultant

Execute on client Bioinformatics data processing and analysis projects across a wide variety of domains in genomics and bioinformatics
Execute on projects in processing and analysis of DNA and RNA
Data type examples include DNAseq, RNAseq, MicroArray, GWAS, WES
Implement and/or tailor best practices for creation of script-based pipelines and data analysis methods
Maintenance of and improvements to existing client genomic/transcriptomic pipelines, bioinformatics tools, and related software and systems
Deliver scientific reports and presentations to various internal and external stakeholders
Help scope new and existing client projects

Educational level attained in 1) a biology-related field and/or 2) computer science or related field
Relevant years of experience in academic research and/or commercial environment
Ability to communicate clearly with customers

Demonstrated experience and confidence in writing code in Python or R
Demonstrated experience in using cloud platforms (ex – AWS, GCP, Azure)
Demonstrated experience in using containerization platforms ( ex – Docker)
Demonstrated experience in workflow/pipeline management systems (ex – SnakeMake, NextFlow)
Demonstrated experience in single cell RNAseq data pre-processing, processing and analysis
Demonstrated experience in bulk RNAseq data pre-processing, processing and analysis
